Nowadays fluorescent bulbs are used because the bulbs use less energy and they last longer as well, which in turn saves money on electric.
Dimmer Lights
Dimmer lights are used to control the amount of light and the brightness of the room. Having the lights on a low dim will use less energy and thus save you money on electric. This is a great money saving tip because even walking into a room to find something you will need to turn the light on, with a dimmer switch you can still turn the light on but with less energy which in turn means less money.
Standby Lighting
Many appliances such as TVs, DVD players, washing machines, mobile phone charges etc have standby lights on them which means they use energy even though they are not being used because they are on standby. Turning these appliances off at the mains so the standby light is not on will save you hundreds of pounds on your electricity bill. |
