There are many different options of lighting the bedroom such as main lights in the centre and lamps. Lamps are a great way adding soft mood lighting to a room, which is especially great in bedrooms when it comes time to relaxing.
Lamps – Bedroom Lighting
Lighting your bedroom is a very important task. A bedroom is used for many different reasons and tasks and so the lighting in the room must accommodate for these different tasks. For example you will need a main light to give off appropriate amounts of light for everyday tasks such as getting ready for work in the mornings, or dressing for a night out. But a main bright light in the room is not great for when it comes to relaxing such as reading a book in bed or having a nap.
Placing lamps in the corners of the room in a bedroom is the perfect way of adding light to the room but in a soft and calm manner. A main light will be needed for tasks that require extra concentration for example homework but when it comes time to relax a lamp in the corner creates the perfect lighting mood.
Options of Lamps
There are many different types of lamps available today including their shape and colour and their style. A popular design of lamps is the Tiffany lamp. The brand Tiffany has been around since 1890 and still to this day it is one of the most popular styles of lighting and lamps. Tiffany lamps are especially good at creating mood lighting because they have a character about them; they have a soft and interesting glass shade in warm and loving colours such as yellows, oranges, and reds. Even the lamp stand has a delicate and intricate design on them which gives the lamp and as a result the bedroom a sense of style.
Floor standing lamps are another great way of adding accent lighting to a room. It is good to have a difference of eye level in a room to create a sense of depth and height. Having a table lamp or two and a floor standing lamp to change the eye level of the light will give this sense of depth making the room appear larger than it actually is. Floor standing lamps can be modern and contemporary or they can be traditional and timeless. |
